Solar Together Bracknell Forest

Registration for this scheme is currently closed.

We anticipate that registration will reopen in June 2025.

We recognise the need to drive climate action locally to reduce and adapt to the impacts of the climate crisis. We aim to become Net Zero as close to 2030 as possible. We are working with local businesses, schools and the wider community to get there.

One way to make a difference is to switch to renewable energy.

We have partnered with iChoosr Ltd, independent experts in group buying, to bring you Solar Together Bracknell Forest.

This is an innovative scheme offering high quality solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, battery storage and electric vehicle charging points. It is a group buying scheme which brings Bracknell Forest households together to get high-quality solar panels. Prices are competitive, and you will be helped through the process and kept informed at every stage.

Planning permission

Planning regulations categorise solar PV installations under permitted development. They will generally not need planning permission. In some cases, such as in conservation areas and on listed buildings, you may need planning permission.

If you already have solar panels installed

You can also register to have battery storage added to your existing solar panels to maximise the benefits of your system.

How the scheme works

1. Registration

You can register for free and without obligation by visiting Solar Together.

To register, you will need to give details about your roof, such as its size and orientation.

2. Auction

A reverse auction will be held where our pre-vetted solar installers will submit bids for the work. The more people that register, the better the deal should be for each household. The installer with the most competitive package will win the auction.

3. Personal recommendation

You will get an email with your personal recommendation based on your registration details. This includes your costs and specifications of your system.

4. Make a decision

You decide whether you want to accept the recommendation. There is no obligation to continue. We will tell you how long you have to accept the recommendation and remind you before the scheme closes.

5. Installation

If you accept, the winning installer will contact you to survey your roof and set an installation date. You will have access to telephone and email support throughout the whole process. Information sessions will also help you to make an informed decision in a safe environment that is hassle free.
