Local schools celebrate sixth form results

Students opening results at Edgbarrow school

It has been a day of celebration across Bracknell Forest, as students received their key stage 5 grades that they have worked so hard to achieve.

The overall A-level pass rate in Bracknell Forest Council schools was a noteworthy 96.8% in line with the national average pass rate, 97.2%. 70.9% of all entries were at an impressive A* to C.

This cohort has shown particular resilience and determination after their learning during their GCSE years and beyond was disrupted as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year marks a return to a grade distribution more in line with that prior to the pandemic, and for that reason, comparisons with the previous 3 years’ results should not be made.

The priority this summer, as ever, is to celebrate the success of our young people, and provide the support they need to continue to flourish.

Grainne Siggins, Executive Director of People, said:

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to each and every student for their accomplishments, as well as their families and all the school staff who have provided unwavering support over the past 2 years.”

Cllr Roy Bailey, Executive Member for Children, Young People and Learning, said:

“It is  a pleasure to be able to congratulate our young people, not just for these results, but for all of the wider achievements they have secured over their key stage 5 study, and for the positive attitudes and determination that they have shown. The dedication and hard work of both students and teachers has truly paid off, and we look forward to witnessing the bright futures that await them all.”
