Milestone reached for Binfield Health and Community Centre

Building set against blue sky

The new Binfield Health and Community Centre has reached a key milestone with the relocation of Binfield Surgery into the building.

The GP practice opened its doors at its new home on Monday 14 August. The modern facilities include GP consultation and examination rooms, right in the heart of the Blue Mountain development next to the King's Academy School.

When fully occupied, the centre will provide 2 key uses – Binfield Surgery and a community centre. It will provide health, wellbeing and community services under one roof and will help bring the growing community of Binfield together.

The community centre boasts a double height hall, meeting rooms, outdoor spaces and a multi-use activity space for the local community to enjoy.

Cllr Megan Wright, executive member for adult services, health and housing, said:

“It’s great to see Binfield Surgery relocate to its new home in the Binfield Health and Community Centre. This much needed health and wellbeing hub will provide several integrated primary health services in a modern and environmentally sustainable facility.”

Dr Robert Koefman, Dr Jeremy Platt and Dr Vitaliy Herhel, GP partners at the practice, said:

“We’re delighted and excited to be moving into our new, custom-built home, which will be such a boost for all of us in Binfield Surgery and for all our patients.

“Being based in a spacious, modern building will allow us to provide the best possible healthcare services and cater for the growing population of the area. We’ve been contacting patients directly to let them know about the move and we’re looking forward to welcoming them to our new surgery so they can experience the improvement for themselves.”

Nicola Airey, NHS Frimley Integrated Care Board’s place director for Bracknell Forest, said:

“The new premises will help the team at Binfield Surgery to deliver better care to their patients, due to the custom-built facilities and the ability to work more closely with other local organisations using the building.

“These include not only health and care providers, but also community and voluntary groups. The larger, modern space will allow the practice to cater to both current patients and the growing population of the area.”

The Binfield Health and Community Centre is a collaboration between Bracknell Forest Council and NHS Frimley, as part of Frimley Health and Care ICS, working in partnership with Binfield Parish Council, Binfield Surgery and Osborne.
