Wellness opportunities for the whole family

The Great Wellness Exchange 2023 is a new community event taking place at different locations in the borough, over the month of September.

Bracknell Forest public health invites residents to get involved, try out new activities and explore the support services offered locally. No matter your age or ability, there is something for everyone.

Main event - Saturday 16 September

The main event kicks off at the Bracknell Leisure Centre on Saturday, 16 September from 10am to 4pm. Taking place alongside Everyone Active’s open day, there will be a range of stalls, demonstrations, workshops and activities to take part in. You will be able to try yoga, meditation, fruit sushi, watch demonstrations in Scottish dancing, martial arts or join in with the choir and ukulele group. As part of the leisure centre’s open day, there will be a bouncy castle to keep the younger visitors entertained too. All ages are welcome!

Towards the end of September there will be 3 more events taking place.

The Lexicon events

The Lexicon is hosting 2 fantastic community events in the town centre:

  • Friday 29 September: card painting in Craft Coop (for adults) and Tai Chi in Shopmobility (for all ages)
  • Sunday 1 October: a traditional tea dance for the whole family in celebration of Silver Sunday featuring former Strictly Come Dancing pro Ian Waite and local dance school KL Dance Steps

Bracknell Open Learning Centre

Bracknell Open Learning Centre is throwing open its doors on Saturday 30 September with a range of fun activities and taster sessions for adults and children. Journaling, mindfulness and watercolour painting are just some of the sessions on offer.

Cllr Megan Wright, executive member for adults, health and housing, said:

“As we start to move out of summer, it is important to continue to look after ourselves. The Great Wellness Exchange aims to support residents’ wellbeing and promote a variety of wellness activities and clubs that can help to improve residents’ health and lifestyles.

“It is a fantastic event taking place at the end of summer and at the start of the school year, I hope that you can make it!”
