Get involved for World Mental Health Day

Tuesday 10 October is World Mental Health Day. The official theme this year is ‘mental health is a universal human right’.

The day is a chance to raise awareness of mental health. It offers the opportunity for everyone to talk openly about mental health with their friends, family and colleagues.

To support the campaign this year, the Happiness Hub is holding a series of drop-in sessions in different locations over 2 days.

The Happiness Hub is a collaboration of services offering mental health and wellbeing advice and support for those living in and around Bracknell Forest aged 18 years and over.

On Tuesday 10 October, the drop-in sessions are at:

  • Sandhurst Park Café, 10am to 11am - Sandhurst Memorial Park, Yorktown Road, Sandhurst, GU47 9BJ
  • Crowthorne Fire Station, 11am to 12:30pm - High Street, Crowthorne, RG45 7AP
  • The Foxes’ Den, 11am to 1pm - Binfield Parish Council offices, Benetfeld Road, Binfield, RG42 4EW
  • Brew Coffee Bar, 1:30pm to 3pm - Easthampstead Works, Town Square, Bracknell, RG12 1BH

If you can’t make those sessions, on Wednesday 11 October there will be a drop-in at The Sun Café (17-19 High Street, Ascot, SL5 9NG) from 1pm to 2pm.

Cllr Megan Wright, Executive Member for Adults, Health and Housing, said:

“World Mental Health Day is a day to raise awareness of mental health, encourage conversation and to let everyone know that it is OK to ask for help.

“The Happiness Hub is here to offer support and help you to get on the right track to better mental health. Come along to your local drop-in, find out what support is offered in your area, meet new people and treat yourself to a hot drink.”
