Refugee Education Equipment and Inclusion Fund

Thanks to funding received from Wellington College, Bracknell Forest Council can support school children on refugee schemes in the borough.

The Refugee Education Equipment and Inclusion Fund supports local refugees with integration and access to education. We are aware that some refugees may face challenges adapting to our education system. This fund provides supplies and support where possible.

What it funds

Many children have already benefitted from this support. The fund is not just for equipment, it can also finance extra resources children need for their education. This could include:

  • therapy sessions
  • extra group teaching support
  • access to after school clubs
  • transport for education

The fund cannot be used for language support or specific one to one tuition. Our Migration Team can recommend other services where appropriate.

Eligibility

Refugees living in Bracknell Forest or attending our schools are eligible for this support.

How to apply

Residents with a designated Migration Support Officer can ask them for more information and an application form.

If a resident does not have a Migration Support Officer, application forms are available from schools.

When we receive an application we will make a decision and notify the applicant of the outcome. The fund is provisionally capped at £800 per pupil, but there is scope for extra if deemed suitable.

If you need more information, residents can email migration@bracknell-forest.gov.uk.
