Local Remembrance Day events

Residents across the borough will come together this weekend to remember those who have given their lives in service and those who continue to serve. Local town and parish councils have organised a series of Remembrance Day events:

Saturday 11 November

Binfield Remembrance Service

Binfield Parish Council has organised an outdoor Remembrance Service, including the laying of wreaths at the St Mark’s Church Memorial. The service will take place from 2:30pm at St Marks Church, Popeswood Road, RG42 4AH.

Sunday 12 November

Binfield Parade

Binfield Parish Council has also organised a Remembrance Day Parade. Starting from the Oakmede shops car park at 9:30am, walking down Terrace Road North to All Saints’ Church ready for the church service, which begins at 10:15am.

The parade will leave the church at 11.15am, returning to the Oakmede shops car park for 11.45am.

Terrace Road North will be closed while the parade takes place.

Sandhurst Memorial Park Service

The Mayor of Sandhurst, Cllr Ray Mossom, invites all residents to attend this year’s Civic Service of Remembrance at 10:45am in Sandhurst Memorial Park, Yorktown Road.

A two-minute silence will be observed at 11am, followed by the laying of wreaths. The Sandhurst Silver Band, St Michael’s Church Choir and the Sandhurst and District Corps of Drums will be providing music.

Parking will be restricted. Yorktown Road, alongside the Memorial Park, between the Wellington Road and Park Road junctions, will be closed to vehicles from 10.40am for the Remembrance March, with a diversion in place.

Bracknell Town Remembrance Parade

Bracknell Town Council has organised a remembrance parade that will take place between 10:30am and 12:30pm from The Angel War Memorial and marching through The Lexicon to the Holy Trinity Church.
