Budget consultation

Councillors have been visiting places across the borough to hear your views on the budget. One of the common themes coming up is libraries.

In the budget papers, there is a proposal to:

  • reorganise the library service and customer service teams
  • close the home library service

While we’re keen to hear your views on that proposal, we’d like to point out that there is no plan to close any of our libraries, reduce their opening hours or stop any of the wonderful activities they do for our community.

You can come along and talk to councillors about the budget proposals on:

  • Saturday 13 January 2pm to 4pm, Foxes Den, Binfield
  • Monday 15 January 2:30pm, Birch Hill Library
  • Wednesday 17 January 2pm to 4pm, Whitegrove Library
  • Friday 19 January, The Lexicon
  • Saturday 20 January 10am to midday, Bracknell Library

Your feedback will help us refine the budget before it is agreed in February.

The final budget, including the proposed level of council tax for 2024 to 25, will be determined by full council on Wednesday 21 February 2024.
