Council budget approved for 2024 to 2025

Our 2024 to 2025 budget was formally approved on Wednesday 21 February.

It will see more than £103 million spent on key services like social care, waste collection, education and libraries. An additional £8.3 million will be spent on other ‘capital’ projects, including £2 million on road improvements.

The budget reflects comments that people made during the consultation over the winter. This year more than 330 people responded with their thoughts.

You can find out more by watching the video by Cllr Mary Temperton, Leader of the Council, and Cllr Kathryn Neil, Executive Member for Business Change and Finance. You can also watch the debate from Wednesday’s full council meeting on our meeting overview page.

Details of new council tax rates will be sent to households over the coming weeks.

Council tax rates cover the money residents pay for:

  • Bracknell Forest Council services
  • their relevant town or parish council
  • Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service
  • services provided by the Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner
