We are working with Trees for Streets to make it easier for residents to sponsor tree planting in their streets and local parks.

Sponsorship scheme
Trees for Streets is a not-for-profit national street tree sponsorship scheme. It is run by the national charity, Trees for Cities.
We are working with the scheme to promote tree planting in Bracknell Forest’s streets. Our aim is to connect communities with trees, nature, the environment and their neighbourhood.

How it works
There are 2 main ways for you to sponsor a tree. You can:
- sponsor a new street tree near your house or in your neighbourhood
- celebrate the life of a loved one by sponsoring a new tree in your favourite park
Visit our Bracknell Forest Trees for Streets page to sponsor a tree online.
Choose your location
Choose where you would like your sponsored tree to be planted by dropping a pin onto our online map. You will be asked some questions about your proposed location.
Make your donation
The contribution to sponsor a street tree or celebration tree is:
- £295 if you water the tree
- £395 if we water the tree
You will need to enter your payment details. For street trees, donation payments will only be taken once your sponsorship is confirmed. For celebration trees, donation payments will be taken at the time of application.
To guarantee your sponsored tree will be planted in the current planting season, you must submit your request by Friday 5 December.
Your donation will be used to pay for the cost of a mature tree, planting, establishment and maintenance.
What we do
Once we have received your request, we will assess your chosen location for its suitability and choose an appropriate tree to plant.
Tree species you may like to consider include birch and hornbeam. A full list is available at the bottom of this page.
The tree will be 2 to 3 metres tall, so it will already look quite mature. We will plant it during the next tree planting season, from November to March.
We will let you know when it is planted.

Caring for your tree
If you take on the job of watering your sponsored tree, Trees for Streets will send you weekly reminders during the summer for the first 3 seasons.

Crowdfunding
A crowdfunding platform also gives communities the opportunity to fundraise together.
The type of schemes supported include:
- filling entire residential streets
- outside schools
- near other community facilities
Crowdfund campaigns are for a minimum of 5 trees and where there is existing community support for this type of scheme.
We’d expect that you’ll be able to encourage other residents and local businesses to support your campaign.
Benefits of tree sponsorship
By sponsoring a new street tree, you will be helping to:
- combat climate change and pollution
- create shade and help with cooling
- improve our health and wellbeing
- protect from flooding
- create a haven for wildlife
- leave a legacy for future generations to enjoy
You will also hopefully feel pretty good about it!
