Purpose
We share the mobile numbers of our registered building inspectors (RBIs). This helps our team to communicate efficiently with you. We ask that you only use these mobile numbers for their intended purpose and not to abuse them.
Our inspectors are typically on site from 10am to 2pm, but these times can change. We request that you contact them outside these hours. If you need an estimated time of arrival for a site inspection, call us before 10am on the inspection day.
Design advice
Our statutory responsibility is to perform the building control function. We are unable to provide solutions to design-related complications during the design or construction phase.
You must refer any design-related queries to your principal designer.
Site inspection bookings
Only use mobile numbers to book site inspections before 10am or after 2pm.
Alternatively, use our book a site inspection form to make your booking.
Photos
Unless we tell you otherwise, you must not forward photographs to our inspectors by text or WhatsApp message.
You must email photos to either of the following:
- building.control@bracknell-forest.gov.uk
- the inspector's email address given in your correspondence
Building control inspection evidence must be marked with the date and time. Images must be geo-tagged. This is as required by the Health and Safety Executive's Operational Standard Rules (April 2024), Paragraph 3.10.
In summary, photographs must display the time, date and exact location where the photo was taken, printed directly on the image. You will need to either download a suitable app on your smartphone or enable the necessary function on any existing apps to do this.
Unsolicited text or WhatsApp messages
You must not send messages unless requested to by an inspector.
Unrequested messages will not be acknowledged. We will not take them into consideration as part of our statutory functions.
Uncontactable mobile phones
Our mobile phones divert to our head office when unanswered, have no signal or are turned off. We do not have voicemail facilities.
