Excel next steps: June 2025

Following on from Excel basics, this course covers further functionality to create more complex Excel spreadsheets and introduces hints and tips for the more advanced user.

Entry requirements

This course is suitable for learners who:

  • have some experience of Microsoft Excel
  • who can open and save spreadsheets 
  • are able to perform simple calculations and formatting

But, now want to be able to do more.

There are no pre-requisites.

There is no need to have access to technology outside of the classroom.

Material required for the course

A pen and paper may be useful to taking notes.

How is your progress checked

Printed examples of spreadsheets that you have created using Excel. 

Tutors will monitor learners progression throughout the session.

Assessment

Self-evaluation at the end of the course.

Next steps

Learners can progress to Pearson accredited qualification in Essential Digital Skills (EDSQ) Entry 3 or Level 1, or to other IT courses.
