Paediatric first aid: June 2025

This comprehensive course is designed to give the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to deal effectively with paediatric emergencies. This includes common medical conditions.

It is suitable for:

  • nursery and primary school practitioners
  • childminders
  • nannies
  • pre and after school club staff 
  • sport coaches

The course meets the requirements of Ofsted and EYFS.

On successful completion you will get a Paediatric First Aid Certificate (valid for 3 years).

Entry requirements

No previous experience is required but this course does require a minimum of Level 1 English (or equivalent).

In order to gain the certificate you must be suitable able to turn someone into recovery position and demonstrate effective CPR.

Material required for the course

Bring a pen and paper for notes. 

A paediatric first aid manual will be provided.

Teaching method

This engaging course will take place in a relaxed, friendly environment.  

Various teaching methods will be used supported by practical sessions.

How is your progress checked

Continual assessment of practical skills plus a final multiple choice exam at the end of the day.

Extra study required at home

There is no extra study required.

Assessment

There will be a self-evaluation at the end of the session.
