Practical customer service skills

On this short course, you will learn what customer service is and why it is important to any business. It will provide you with basic customer service and communication skills in order to deal with customer complaints and queries to satisfactorily meet the needs of customers. 

This course is a short, practical course to enable you to complete it quickly. This is an advantage when seeking employment. There is no exam. This course is not accredited, however, you will receive a certificate of attendance. 

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Define excellent customer service
  • Give three reasons why customer service is important to any business
  • Apply effective communication techniques in customer interactions
  • Explain three benefits of product knowledge
  • Handle common customer complaints professionally
  • Use problem solving strategies to resolve customer issues

Learners must meet eligibility criteria for this course.  Course may be free to eligible job seekers, please enquire at job club.

No prior knowledge, understanding, skills or qualifications are required for learners to register for this course. 

 

Material required for the course

All materials will be provided.

Teaching method

Learning will take place in a classroom situation.  You will work individually or as part of a group, depending on requirements of the task. Visual aids, discussion, debates and practical tasks will be used throughout the programme.
