Transition reception to year 1
A free 2-hour session supporting parents to look at the best ways of supporting their reception aged children as they transition into year 1, giving parents the opportunity to look at what the transition involves, identify the pros and cons and how to support the transition
On this course you will:
- look at what’s involved in transition from reception to year 1
- look at he best ways to support the transition
- learn to boost your child’s resilience to cope with the change
Entry requirements
Being a parent or a carer of a child currently in Yr. R moving to Yr. 1 in September

- Discussion
- tutor presentation and handouts
- activities to try at home
Extra study required at home
Use the tools and resources discussed in the sessions
Assessment
Self-evaluation at the end of the session
