For children born on or between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022.
If you wish to apply for a non Bracknell Forest school on your child's Reception application for September 2026, you must list the school or schools as a preference on your application with Bracknell Forest.
This application process is open from 5 November 2025 until 15 January 2026.
You must apply to your home local authority no matter what school you wish to apply for.
Starting secondary school (Year 7) September 2026
For children born on or between 1 September 2014 and 31 August 2015.
If you wish to apply for a non Bracknell Forest school on your child's Year 7 application for September 2026, then you must list the school or schools as a preference on your application with Bracknell Forest.
This application process is open from 12 September 2025 until 31 October 2025.
You must apply to your home local authority no matter what school you wish to apply for.
Transferring to a new school September 2026
Junior admissions
For children born on or between 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2019.
There are no Junior schools within Bracknell Forest.
If you live in Bracknell Forest and your child attends an infant school outside the area, you will need to apply for a junior school in another area through us. This application process is open from 5 November 2025 until 15 January 2026.

Middle admissions
There are no middle schools in Bracknell Forest.
If you live in Bracknell Forest and your child attends a lower school outside the area, you will need to apply for a middle school in another area through us.
This application process is open from Friday 12 September 2025 until Friday 31 October 2025.
Upper admissions
There are no upper schools within Bracknell Forest.
If you live in Bracknell Forest and your child attends a middle school outside the area, you will need to apply for an upper school in another area through us.

Transferring schools in the middle of the school year (in-year applications)
If you wish to apply to change your child’s school in the middle of the school year (make an in-year application) for a school located outside of Bracknell Forest, then you must apply directly to the relevant admission authority for that school.
Bracknell Forest School admissions cannot process in-year applications for non-Bracknell Forest schools.
University Technical Colleges (UTCs)
If you wish to apply to send your child to a University Technical College, you must apply to the college directly.
Admissions for Year 10 at UTC Reading are open from late August. Contact them directly for any more information.
