Christmas wishes from the leader of the council

Cllr Mary Temperton, leader of Bracknell Forest Council, said:

The festive season is here once again.

It seems this past year has flown by, so it’s important we take time to stop and reflect on all that we’ve achieved together.

We adopted the new local plan which will help meet our housing, employment and other needs up to 2037. We had a summer of celebrating our community with events like The Lexicon Bracknell Half Marathon, our culture and community day and the Pride celebrations. Not to mention the general election in July and all the processes and events that come along with that. The latter end of the year has seen lots of projects hit huge milestones or completion, like the topping out at Bridgewell supported living accommodation. The Binfield Health and Community Centre officially opening and the first residents at Coopers Hill getting their keys!

Christmas is a time for celebration, reflection, and hope for the new year ahead. It’s also a time to appreciate those who go above and beyond to support our borough during this busy season.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone working over Christmas to keep Bracknell Forest moving. From our NHS staff, emergency services, and carers, to council workers, transport teams, and volunteers – your dedication makes a huge difference, and we are truly grateful for all that you do.

To those who are giving up time with their loved ones to care for others, keep vital services running, or lend a helping hand to neighbours in need – thank you. Your kindness, commitment, and hard work do not go unnoticed.

On behalf of Bracknell Forest Council, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy, and hopeful New Year.
