Bracknell Forest has officially been recognised as a key visitor destination after securing national tourism status from VisitEngland, alongside other Berkshire councils.

The 6 local councils across Berkshire, including Bracknell Forest, have successfully achieved accreditation as a Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP). This means Bracknell Forest and its partners are now part of VisitEngland’s new national tourism network. This links the borough directly with the national tourist board and the UK government.

The status gives businesses in the borough a stronger voice in shaping national tourism policies and unlocking new opportunities for funding and development. It also helps boost the local economy by attracting more visitors and investment to the area.

Cllr Paul Bidwell, cabinet member for economic development and regeneration, said:

“This accreditation is fantastic news for our borough. It means we have better communication with national and regional partners to support local businesses, attract visitors, and create new opportunities for our economy.

“Bracknell Forest is home to incredible green spaces, attractions, and a thriving town centre, and this recognition will help us put it on the map for even more people to discover.”

The LVEP will be led by VisitWindsor, supported by Berkshire local authorities to strengthen connections with other top visitor destinations.
