We have been made aware of a distressing scam circulating in Bracknell Forest, targeting those wishing to view their loved one’s funeral service online.
Scammers are sharing fraudulent links to live streams of funeral services. These links often lead to fake websites which request payment or personal details to access the service. This is a scam.
Genuine livestreams are arranged by official funeral directors and payment made directly to them. Livestream details are shared privately with family and invited guests. No one should ever be asked to pay a third party or provide personal details to view a funeral service online.
Remember to avoid clicking on unsolicited links and do not provide payment or personal information to access a funeral service.
