Residents can enjoy free single bus journeys on selected weekends leading up to Christmas!
Bracknell Forest Council is once again offering free single bus journeys for the first 3 weekends in December. The scheme, funded by the Department for Transport, applies to travel on Thames Valley Buses and Reading Buses starting within Bracknell Forest.
Free travel will be available on:
- 6 and 7 December
- 13 and 14 December
- 20 and 21 December
The offer covers single journeys starting within Bracknell Forest. Passengers travelling outside the borough will need to pay for the return trip unless a similar scheme is in place in the destination area.
This initiative aims to make local travel easier and more affordable during the holiday season. Passengers can plan their journey at My Journey Bracknell Forest.
Cllr Guy Gilbe, cabinet member for planning, transport and countryside, said:
“We’re delighted to offer free single bus journeys over December weekends to our residents again this year. It is a small way to help ease financial pressures over the festive period, while also being a convenient option to get to the shops, eat out or just visit some of the fantastic locations across our borough.
“If you don’t normally use the bus locally, this is the perfect opportunity to see how quick and easy it can be to get around Bracknell Forest.”
