You can apply online through the Planning Portal.

Make a planning application

Check the standards for online submissions document before submitting documents and drawings electronically. This document includes the required files sizes and format. Make sure you go through the checklist before sending your application - most delays are caused by simple mistakes.

When submitting a planning application, be aware that we will not be able to upload any single document over 5mb to our planning system. This applies to documents submitted through the planning portal or emailed to us.

Applying by post

If you are applying by post choose the form you need from the list below.

Householder applications

• Householder application for planning permission for works or extension to a dwelling
  • 1 original and 1 copy of all documents required

• Householder application for planning permission for works or extension to a dwelling and conservation area consent
  • 2 original and 2 copies of all documents required

• Householder application for planning permission for works or extension to a dwelling and listed building consent for alterations, extension or demolition of a listed building

Applications for full planning permission

For change of use from amenity space to private garden, a full planning application will be required:

• Application for planning permission
  • 1 original and 1 copy of all documents required

• Application for planning permission with consent to display an advertisement(s)
  • 2 original and 2 copies of all documents required
  • read the full planning and advertisement consent checklists

Lawful development certificate applications

• Application for a Lawful Development Certificate for an existing use of operation or activity including those in breach of planning condition
  • 1 original and 1 copy of all documents required

• Application for a Lawful Development Certificate for a proposed use or development
  • 1 original and 1 copy of all documents required
