Planning decisions and appeals

Planning application outcomes

You can view applications and decisions on the online planning register. They will usually be available within 48 hours of the decision being made unless the decision is subject to a legal agreement.

You can also register to track applications on the register and receive automatic email notifications of decisions.

Delegated decisions are in weekly lists. To find them, select the 'Weekly/Monthly Lists' section and enter the date for the relevant week. You can also filter your search by parish and ward.

If planning permission is refused, we advise applicants or their agents to ask for a meeting with their case officer to discuss grounds for refusal. Applicants may wish to follow this up by making a pre-application enquiry with a view to submitting a new application.

Resubmitting an application will not require an additional planning fee if all of these criteria apply:

  • the application is resubmitted within 12 months of the original decision
  • the applicant is the same
  • it’s the same type of application
  • the red line on the plan is the same
