Missed bin collections
We will look back through the collection records to see if there was a reason why your bin was not collected. If there is no recorded reason, we will arrange a collection for you within 2 working days.
If you report a missed collection which is found to be because of one of the reasons listed below, you will need to wait for your next due collection or pay for an additional bin collection.
Report a missed food waste collection
You need to report a missed food waste collection by 5pm on the day after your collection day.
Report a missed food waste caddy collection
Report any other missed bin collections
Report a missed collection for green, blue or brown bins. You can do this up to 3 days after your collection day.

Why your bin might have been missed
Where you put it
If your bin is not in the collection point, we may not have seen it. Collection points are usually at the kerbside of the nearest road to your house, as long as this doesn't cause an obstruction.
If you aren't sure where to put your bin for collection, call Customer Services on 01344 352000.
When you put it out
Your bin must be out by 6am on your collection day.
If you put it out later, the collection team may have already collected from your road.
What you put in it
If you put the wrong things in your bin, we will not collect your bin. The bin will be left and you will need to take the incorrect items out of the bin, and wait for the next collection.
Check what you can put in your bin on the relevant page:
How much you put in it
If your bin is too heavy (over 75kg), our bin lorries are unable to lift it and crews cannot move the bin.
As a general rule if an adult struggles to move it, we will not be able to lift it.
In this case, you will need to take some things out of your bin and either take them to a recycling centre, pay for an extra collection or wait for the next scheduled collection.

Is it a Bracknell Forest bin?
We won't collect rubbish which isn't in a Bracknell Forest Council bin.
The council provides bins to a specification that make sure it is safe to use, including the loading and unloading onto the vehicles. Only Bracknell Forest approved bins will be emptied.
Whether you have paid for the service (garden waste only)
If your garden waste bin isn't collected, this may mean that you haven't paid the annual collection fee.

Frozen garden waste
There may be certain circumstances during periods of very cold weather when garden waste becomes frozen. This can cause it to get stuck in the brown bins.
If any bins cannot be emptied because the contents are frozen, a notice will be placed on the bin informing you that this is why the bin has been left.
Bin repairs and replacements
Bins are provided with a 1 year guarantee.
The only repairs we can carry out to wheelie bins are to replace the lids or the wheels. We can also supply replacement hinge pins but we cannot repair the actual hinge.
If the repair required is other than to the lids, wheels or hinge pin, then we cannot repair it and you must order a replacement bin. Make sure that you tick the correct option on the bin form otherwise we will not remove the broken bin free of charge.
