Cycle September in Bracknell Forest

Family of four cycling through Lily Hill Park

This month marks the return of Cycle September, which aims to get residents and workers in the borough cycling for better health, sustainability, and a chance to win prizes.

Cycle September is an initiative by Love to Ride and is supported by the council. The challenge this year is straightforward, ride your bike, log your trips, and accumulate points throughout the month. The more points you earn the more entries you will have into the prize draw of £2,000.

This year you can also celebrate Cycle September at the first Bracknell Cycling Festival on Saturday 14 September from 11am to 4pm. Hosted by Trek Bracknell, Avanti Cycling, The Lexicon and Bracknell Forest Council, the festival will include:

  • stunt display by Fusion Extreme
  • mountain bike coaching
  • learn-to-ride sessions
  • instructor-led rides for all the family
  • cycling and community stalls
  • food and drink stalls

The event will take place in Bond Square in Bracknell town centre (between M&S and Waitrose). Cycling to the event is encouraged. Plan your route using My Journey.

Neil Mathews, Assistant Director for Highways and Transport, said:

“At a time when we're all striving to make more sustainable choices, cycling offers a perfect solution. Whether you’re looking to improve your fitness, save money on fuel, or do your bit for the environment, Cycle September is a fantastic opportunity to get involved.

“By logging your rides with Love to Ride, you join a community of cyclists who are passionate about making a positive change. Plus, you might just win one of the incredible prizes on offer. It doesn't matter if you're a seasoned cyclist or dusting off your bike for the first time in years – you can do it.”
