The new Binfield Health and Community Centre reached a key milestone on Monday 21 October, with a ribbon cutting celebration to mark its official opening.

The facility provides 2 key services – the community centre, managed by Binfield Parish Council, and Binfield GP Surgery.

The new community centre boasts modern facilities, including:

  • a double height hall
  • meeting rooms
  • changing places facilities
  • a multi-use activity space
  • outdoor seating areas

Binfield Surgery has already relocated into the new premises and is benefitting from spacious custom-built facilities, including GP consultation and examination rooms. It provides several integrated primary health services in a modern and environmentally sustainable facility.

The celebration was led by the Mayor of the Borough of Bracknell Forest, Cllr Jenny Penfold. She was joined by representatives from the borough council and Binfield Parish Council; NHS Frimley Integrated Care Board and Binfield Surgery.

Cllr Iskandar Jefferies, cabinet member for leisure, culture, public protection and democracy said:

“It’s great to see the Binfield Health and Community Centre now fully open and being used and enjoyed by members of the public.

“The centre, developed through a partnership between the borough council and NHS Frimley, provides health, wellbeing and community services under one roof and will help bring the residents of Binfield together.

“The facility supports recent planned development growth in this locality, providing new facilities to support our new and growing communities.

“I’d like to thank everyone involved for their continued hard work and dedication in providing such an important facility that will improve the lives of the local community now and in the future.”

Nicola Airey, NHS Frimley’s director of places and communities, said:

“The new centre represents real progress in the way in which services are provided to the local community. It is purpose-built, spacious, bright and it brings together different organisations, all-dedicated to serving local residents. NHS Frimley is delighted to have been able to support this project and we look forward to the centre benefitting the people of Binfield for many years to come.”

Ceri Rance, Binfield Parish Council clerk, said:

“Binfield Parish Council is delighted to offer this facility to the community. We are looking forward to helping it become a vibrant and lively hub, which offers many different activities to support people’s enjoyment, health and wellbeing.”

The health and community centre has free onsite car parking for its users, including disabled spaces and EV charging points. Activities currently on offer include Pilates, dance fit, yoga, badminton, basketball and baby signing. The centre is also used by the community church and can be hired for family parties.
