You're invited to share your thoughts on our updated Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) for planning. This consultation is your chance to help shape how we involve you in the planning process.
You can access the consultation through the consultation portal and have your say until 5pm on Tuesday 3 December. In the document, we outline how we’ll keep you informed about the planning process and highlight opportunities for you to get involved. We also explain how your comments can influence future developments in the borough.
Our Cabinet approved this consultation earlier this month. We will thoroughly review all the feedback we receive, and it will help shape the final version of the SCI.
Once adopted, the SCI will guide how we consult with you and other stakeholders on all planning-related decisions.
Andrew Hunter, executive director for place, said:
“It’s essential that our planning consultation processes reflect residents’ wants and needs. The updated statement of community involvement has been rewritten to provide clearer and more user-friendly guidance, in line with essential planning regulations. It is designed to make the process more transparent and easier to understand.
“We encourage all residents to review the document and share their feedback before 3 December.”
The consultation documents can be found on the consultation portal. Hard copies are available at borough libraries, town and parish council offices, and Time Square during normal opening hours.
