The community learning team at the Bracknell Open Learning Centre hosted a visit by Peter Swallow, MP for Bracknell, on Thursday 5 June. The team was delighted to introduce Peter to learners, volunteers and staff in both the job club and English language cafe.
Peter heard some of the learner success stories and listened to volunteers talk about their valuable work. He then joined in with a group activity participating with learners in the English language café as they practised their spoken English.
Cllr Roy Bailey, cabinet member for children and young people, said:
“I was delighted to welcome Peter Swallow, MP, to the Bracknell Open Learning Centre, to see for himself the outstanding work being done there.
"The community learning team at the centre provides entry level courses on a wide range of subjects, including help with job applications and basic maths. It is a fantastic resource managed by highly skilled and professional staff.”
