The council’s cabinet has approved the Bracknell Forest Vision 2050 plan. This future-focused plan will guide the borough’s growth over the next 25 years. The Vision 2050 plan aims to ensure that Bracknell Forest remains a great place to live and work by focusing on sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation.
A series of collaborative workshops, stakeholder engagement sessions, and public engagement sessions were held around the borough in early 2025. People of all ages shared their priorities and vision for the future – this played a key role in shaping the themes and direction of the finalised plan.
The plan builds on the borough’s strong foundations of community pride, green spaces, and a resilient economy. The central themes for the future are community wellbeing, affordable housing, sustainability, transport, education, local economy and culture, and inclusive communities.
The long-term plan highlights key goals, including creating community hubs, investing in renewable energy, improving transport links, and enhancing access to education and skills for all residents. Vision 2050 also champions local culture and building stronger community connections.
Cllr Mary Temperton, Leader of the Council, said:
“Vision 2050 is about building on what makes our borough special, while planning for the challenges of the future. We’re proud to set out a shared path to a greener, fairer, and more connected future for our residents and businesses.”
Bracknell Forest Council hopes to shape a future where everyone can prosper – ongoing collaboration is key to making this happen. The document will continue to evolve over the next 25 years with input from businesses and residents.
