Residents, volunteers, and local organisations gathered at Princess Square last month, for Bracknell Forest’s Memory and Wellbeing Festival, as part of Dementia Action Week.

The festival brought together representatives from health, social care, and voluntary sectors to raise awareness for dementia prevention, early diagnosis, and post-diagnostic care. The event also gave attendees the opportunity to learn about the services and support available in Bracknell Forest.

A strong year of progress for local people and services was recognised by Bracknell Forest Council’s Cabinet at its meeting on Tuesday 23 June.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and the Met Office have issued a red heat-health alert across the South East this week. Guidance and local service updates will be added to this article.

Six recommendations relating to an investigation around taxi licensing were noted and endorsed by the council’s governance and audit committee on Wednesday 17 June.

A new 3-year plan to help babies, young children and families get the best possible start in life was approved by Bracknell Forest Council’s Cabinet meeting last month.

Bracknell Forest Council’s community safety service has been awarded the ASB PLEDGE from national charity, ASB Help. The service received this award for demonstrating its process and commitment to the ASB Case review process.

A drop-in session will be held at Jennett’s Park Community Centre today (Wednesday 3 June) for local residents who have questions about the impact of the fire at Daler-Rowney on 25 May. 

Following a large fire at the Daler-Rowney site in Peacock Lane in Bracknell on Monday 25 May, Bracknell Forest Council is now helping the community to recover.
