Bracknell Forest students celebrate GCSE results

Young people across Bracknell Forest have been celebrating today, as they collected their GCSE results after 2 years of hard work and dedication. These results are not only a testament to the commitment of the pupils, but also the unwavering support and guidance provided by the staff and leaders in Bracknell Forest schools.

Young people in the borough continue to achieve very positive results, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to embark on the next phase of their educational journey.

Provisional results show:

  • 76.8% achieved 4+ in English language or literature
  • 73.3% achieved 4+ in mathematics
  • 67.2% achieved 4+ in combined English and mathematics
  • average Attainment 8 score across the borough was 47.3

Nationally, the proportion of pupils achieving a standard pass (Grade 4+) in English was 70.6%, and in mathematics was 71.9%.

Cllr Roy Bailey, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, added:

“I would like to congratulate every young person collecting their GCSE results today. These wonderful results reflect their diverse talents and interests that they have worked hard to develop. It is testament to the well-rounded education that will prepare them well for their future academic pursuits and careers. We thank all the staff and parents for their efforts in supporting these pupils.”
