Preparing for Adulthood Roadshow

a group of young people at an exhibition

The successful Preparing for Adulthood Roadshow will return on Wednesday 14 January 2026 at Bracknell and Wokingham College.

This drop-in event is for young people aged 14 to 25 from Bracknell Forest with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). It will run from 1pm to 5pm in the college’s sports hall.

Visitors will be able to find out more about the options and support available after leaving school.

Young people and their families can come along to talk to:

  • local colleges and independent training providers
  • employment support services
  • local employers
  • supported internship and apprenticeship providers
  • social care services
  • health services
  • leisure activity providers
  • youth services
  • voluntary sector organisations

Cllr Roy Bailey, cabinet member for children and young people, said:

“The Preparing for Adulthood Roadshow is a fantastic way for young people with SEND to discover the options available to them as they move on from school. We are lucky that local colleges, training providers and businesses come along to share what they offer. This will be the third roadshow, with the previous two being very well received by young people and their families. At the past roadshows, young people have found inspiration and guidance to make this important next step in their life and education.”
