Land searches update

Bracknell Forest Council is still unable to process land charges due to an ongoing data‑mapping issue in our new ICT system (Arcus Global). Although we hoped a solution was close, further testing shows results remain inaccurate, so the service cannot yet resume.

Cllr Iskandar Jefferies, cabinet member for leisure, culture, public protection and democracy, said:

We are continuing to work with Arcus Global and external data experts to resolve the issue. The focus is to deal with the data issues that relate to already submitted search requests, so that these are processed quickly.  Then turning attention to the remaining data requirements to have a fully functioning system.  It is anticipated that testing on the backlog will start early next week.

We understand this is causing delays to property transactions. Customers are advised to speak to their mortgage lenders about proceeding without a search, or to seek advice from solicitors or conveyancers on available options.

Fees for land searches submitted between Monday 26 January 2026 and Thursday 30 April 2026 will be refunded.

We apologise for the disruption. We are doing everything possible to restore the service as quickly as we can.
