Bracknell Forest Council has provided a statement on the issue that impacted several Bracknell Forest schools on Thursday (24 September). Police have confirmed the threat sent through email has been fully assessed; enquiries have shown it is not credible and there is no information to suggest any genuine risk to pupils, staff or schools.

"A small number of our schools were contacted by police regarding a possible threat to welfare this morning (24 September), which meant some schools activated their lockdown procedures to keep staff and pupils safe
“All Bracknell Forest school children and staff remain safe, and nobody has been harmed.
“Thames Valley Police has confirmed the threat has been fully assessed, and enquiries have shown it is not credible and there is no information to suggest any genuine risk to pupils, staff or schools. A police investigation is continuing into who sent the email.
"Schools have been keeping their communities updated and will continue to do so as necessary, they have also been provided with advice and reassurance from the police and our safeguarding team.
“As this is an ongoing police matter and investigation, we are unable to comment any further.”
