Funding to carry out energy efficiency work on a number of council buildings has been approved at a meeting of the Executive last night, Thursday 29 September, as part of the council’s pledge to be carbon neutral by 2050.
Running Out of Time, the 24-hour a day running relay from Glasgow to Sharm el-Sheikh, will be passing through Bracknell Forest on Friday 7 October to raise awareness of climate change education.
All secondary schools in Bracknell Forest will be awarded £500 each to help them achieve their climate change goals, following last month’s student climate change conference.
This year marks the sixth national Windrush Day and 75 years since more than 500 Commonwealth citizens from the Caribbean, upon the request of the British Government, arrived at Tilbury Docks, Essex, to help rebuild Britain after World War II.
Last week saw another win for Bracknell Forest Council as they took home the Regional Council/Local Authority Body of the Year award at the South East Regional Energy Efficiency Awards.
