Types of permits

Resident and business parking permits

A resident or business permit entitles a specific vehicle to park within the appropriate resident parking zone during the hours of operation.

Each property located within a zone can apply for any combination of resident and business permits up to the maximum of 5 permits per property.

These permits will be issued to a specific vehicle, cannot be transferred and must be displayed in the windscreen of your vehicle.

4-hour reusable visitor permits

Displaying the 4-hour reusable visitor permit entitles any vehicle to park within the appropriate zone during the hours of operation.

This permit will be automatically issued to the first successful applicant for a resident or business parking permit from each property.

This permit can be transferred between vehicles.

Visitor scratch cards

Displaying the 4-hour and 24-hour visitor scratch cards entitles a specific vehicle to park within the appropriate zone during the hours of operation.

Scratch cards are issued to the first successful resident at each property. These permits are not available to businesses.

Every residential property is entitled to:

  • 50 x 4-hour single use visitor scratch cards
  • 50 x 24-hour single use visitor scratch cards

Valid scratch cards

Valid scratch cards have the NSL logo.

Scratch cards with any other logos are not valid.

Replacing old scratch cards

Old scratch cards with the Saga logo can be replaced with new ones. The booklets must be full and unused.

To ask for a replacement, make a parking enquiry

This offer is available until Monday 31 July 2023.

Healthcare and service providers

A permit is required for healthcare and tradesperson service providers. The fees charged are in line with the resident visitor permit and other chargeable services within the residents' parking zone scheme.

There is a difference in the fee charged for healthcare and tradespeople. Healthcare organisations provide a personal care package to residents whereas trader services are an optional service.

If you are an organisation such as a housing association or providing healthcare to residents within all, or part of the resident parking zones, you can apply for an annual 4-hour multi vehicle permit. This is transferable across vehicles within the company, rather than issued to specific vehicle registrations.

Permits covering longer periods, such as a 24-hour period, are primarily designed for residents requiring overnight care.

In extenuating circumstances a permit can be issued for a longer time period, if you think you qualify for this you should contact the parking team by emailing customer.services@bracknell-forest.gov.uk.

Tradesperson permit

If you need to access one of the resident parking zones in order to provide a service, such as window cleaning, you can apply for a 4-hour reusable service provider permit.

Landlords

Landlords that require access to the resident parking zones can apply for visitor scratch cards for the zone the tenanted property is within.

Discretionary permit

The council has a process for considering discretionary permit applications where the standard criteria are not met.

Each application will be considered on an individual basis and must be accompanied by sufficient evidence to justify your case. These can only be issued for a limited time.

If you believe you require a discretionary permit to park in a zone but do not fit in any of the above permit categories, you should contact the Parking Team by:
