A records retention and disposal schedule is a policy that defines how the council manages our physical and digital records and information.

It provides the council with clear guidance on how long we should keep it and when we should delete or dispose of it.

This document is updated to reflect changes in legislation and business requirements.

Our schedule

The document below contains the council's schedule. For each type of data, it shows information on:

  • the disposal timeframe for paper and digital copies
  • whether it contains personal or special category data
  • any example records
  • the statutory provision or authority for holding the data
  • the lawful basis we have for processing the data
