Parents and carers looking for fun half-term ideas can explore a wide range of activities in Bracknell Forest. From indoor play to outdoor adventures, there’s plenty to keep children entertained.

To get out in the fresh air, the borough has many green spaces and parks to explore with fun, free activities to do.

In our parks you can find some great activities, including:

  • carved sculptures
  • educational nature trail with wildlife themed wood carvings
  • brass rubbing wildlife trail
  • play areas
  • den building
  • miles of trails to explore

Green and active volunteering

Green and Active have 3 conservation volunteering activities planned for half-term in Bucklers Forest, Worlds End playground, Garth Meadows in Warfield.

Bracknell Forest library activities

Bracknell Forest libraries are running craft sessions with a spooky theme for Halloween.

Family hubs

Join the family hubs at one of their fun play sessions suitable for the whole family. These are free to attend, and no booking is required. Please be aware sessions may become busy. Feel free to dress up for Halloween for any of the sessions.

Coral Reef Waterworld

Coral Reef Waterworld has:

  • a swimming pool
  • waterslides
  • a pirate ship

The Look Out Discovery Centre

The Look Out Discovery Centre will be running its 'Yucky You' show until 9 November.

The Yucky You show is all about the science of the human body, including all the amazingly nasty bits, like how we make farts and snot!

The show will be on at 11:30am and 2:30pm on weekends, and at 45 minutes past the hour every day of October half-term. 

The Lexicon

The Lexicon has a host of Halloween-themed activities, running from Friday 24 October to Sunday 2 November.

Activities include:

  • a pumpkin trail
  • take a pumpkin patch selfie
  • skeletons art display
  • face painting
