Bracknell Forest Council’s community safety service has been awarded the ASB PLEDGE from national charity, ASB Help. The service received this award for demonstrating its process and commitment to the ASB Case review process.
ASB Help provides advice and support to victims of anti-social behaviour (ASB) and works with practitioners in the field. It introduced the pledge due to differences in the way ASB case reviews are applied across areas.
The ASB case review is a process which gives victims and communities the right to ask for a case review of problematic reports of ASB they have reported in the past 6 months. It is designed to put victims first and makes sure all agencies work together to try and resolve reports of ASB. This helps to make sure that no one affected by ASB feels unheard.
The ASB Help PLEDGE, seeks to encourage all agencies involved in the ASB case review process including local authorities, police, housing providers and the NHS to embed best practice into their policy and procedures.
Cllr Helen Purnell, Leader of the Council said:
“Signing the ASB PLEDGE represents a strong and positive step for Bracknell Forest Council and the communities it serves. It clearly demonstrates this council’s commitment to tackling nuisance, protecting residents, and improving quality of life. By aligning with partners on the community safety partnership, this council reinforces a coordinated approach to prevention, early intervention, and enforcement. This pledge demonstrates that residents’ concerns are taken seriously and acted upon. Ultimately, it supports safer streets, stronger neighbourhoods, and a more responsive, accountable local authority working in the best interests of its communities.”
