This report sets out an overview of the council’s performance for the first quarter of 2026 to 2027 (April to June 2026), relating to the 2023 to 2027 Council Plan.
The purpose is to provide the Cabinet with a high-level summary of key achievements, and to highlight areas where performance does not meet targets or expectations, along with any remedial action that is being taken. It complements the detailed directorate Quarterly Service Reports.
The full suite of actions and indicators has been agreed as part of the production of the annual service plans, setting out key activities to deliver the council's strategic aims. This is the first report relating to the 2026 to 2027 service plans that were noted by Cabinet on 19 May 2026.
They reflect each directorate’s contribution towards the priorities of the Council Plan, including the 3 new areas of focus set by the new Leader and Cabinet for 2026 to 2027. These are:
- tackling violence against girls and women
- housing supply
- the regeneration of the Deck in the town centre
