Surge testing starts in Bracknell Forest

Surge testing will start in the GU47 0 postcode area of Bracknell Forest today (Wednesday 16 June), to help try and reduce the spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant locally.

The council is urging residents over the age of 11 (year 7) who are living or working in the GU47 0 postcode area to come forward for a COVID-19 PCR test between 16 and 30 June, provided they are not showing symptoms.

As part of the council’s recovery plan for children’s education, we have joined forces with The Dollywood Foundation to bring Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to an estimated 450 eligible children in Bracknell Forest.

We are working with Public Health England and the Department of Health and Social Care to carry out surge testing.

This will be in:

  • the GU47 0 area of Bracknell Forest
  • from Wednesday 16 June to Wednesday 30 June

Bracknell Forest Council formally requests surge testing

Bracknell Forest Council has officially requested that surge testing is deployed across specific parts of the borough given the rising rate of Delta variant COVID-19 cases.

We have submitted a formal request to start surge testing as soon as practically possible to help try and reduce the spread.
