Half-term activities around Bracknell Forest

Parents and carers in Bracknell Forest can discover many fun, low-cost activities to entertain their kids this half-term.

The borough has wonderful locations, green spaces and parks with so much to explore and free activities to do. 

Outdoors

Lily Hill Park has:

  • carved sculptures such as the Green Man and the story telling throne 
  • an amphitheatre
  • a balance beam tree 
  • the world’s largest picnic bench
  • brass rubbing wildlife trail

South Hill Park has:

  • an educational nature trail with wildlife themed wood carvings
  • a maze 
  • a play area 
  • woodlands

Jennett’s Hill has:

  • multi-use games areas including a basketball court
  • play areas for all ages 
  • a teenage shelter
  • a medieval sunken lane
  • a wildflower meadow
  • small pine and broadleaved woodland
  • public art sculptures

Indoors

Treasure hunt at The Lexicon

Visit The Lexicon to join a fun-filled treasure hunt around the town centre. You can discover 12 life-sized brick models, including the notorious Captain Blackbird, his shipmates and other hidden treasures.

Coral Reef Waterworld

Coral Reef Waterworld has:

The Look Out Discovery Centre

The Look Out Discovery Centre has:

  • a hands on science exhibition (booking required)
  • special demonstrations (booking required)

  • woodlands to explore

Holiday Activities and Food programme

There is also support available for people struggling financially through the Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF).

The HAF programme is open to children who are eligible for benefits related free school meals. 

Activities include:

  • sports
  • arts and crafts
  • performing arts

Parents and carers can book up to 4 sessions over half-term (places are subject to funding availability).  All participating children will also receive a healthy meal.

Getting out an about and exploring nature is not only fun, but also so good for mental and physical health. 

Children can combine having fun, being active and learning new skills, all in the local community.”
